Mission Statement

The mission of the Blackey Baptist Youth Ministry of Blackey Baptist Church is to establish a foundation for building Christian character, morals, values and behaviors in young people ages 8 to 18; by using creative and innovative methods to excite, inspire, capture and ignite young people for Jesus. Our goal is to enable young people to understand and recognize who Jesus is and what it is to live for Him only.

Vision Statement

Our vision is to respond to the social and spiritual needs of the youth within our church and community by providing relative programs, activities, and events that will allow them to build a strong foundation of faith that will enable them to express and share their faith through their own words, actions and deeds; to encourage them to use their individual talents in programs and ministries that interest them in order to nurture their growth as people of faith while providing volunteer services to the community.

Lesson Time

Sin. The WEIGHT of sin. What is it? How does it affect us?

We see sin everywhere, everyday. But as Christians we are not to keep and carry them around. Jesus Christ came to deliver us from sin so that we may enter into the gates of Heaven. He took that sin; paid for it by beatings and hung on the cross. For you and for me. Forever. The ultimate sacrifice; the perfect lamb of God.

The kiddos learned exactly what sin is and how sometimes people think that they can carry it around. Kind of like a brick, to carry with you. But see the first little sin that they carry they may think, "Hey, thats not that bad. I can carry it." But as they go on without Christ, their sin continues and it gets heavier. Like adding more bricks to carry. It gets heavy. It can have emotional and physical effects to a persons life and those who are around them.

But we are not meant to carry those sins. We just can not do it. But we know a MAN that came for us, to take those sins away. We take them to the alter and lay them down to never be picked up and remembered no more. Then the Holy Spirit may reside in us as we are new creatures in Christ after we repent of our sins. He gives us discernment over our behaviors, right and wrong. We actually will crave and hunger for Jesus and what the Word teaches us. Then watch out!! Oh the possibilities we have with Jesus! The promise that He will never leave us or forsake us. That is love.

Come join us this Sunday morning at 10 for Bible study and 11 am for service. Sunday evening string instruments is at 6 pm, evening service is at 7 pm and youth ministry is at 7 pm also. We would love to have you there with us.
