Our Prayer

Dear Lord, please dear heavenly father let us mourn as you do over sin. Lets us recognize the pain, hurt, and destruction it cause people. Let us do everything in our might through you to do everything we can to warn other of its destruction. Lord we cry out to you give us the opportunity to show other the mercy, grace, and compassion you have shown us. It is by your son’s sacrifice that I know this is possible. We ask and pray in the name of JESUS. Amen!  

If you have never asked Jesus into your life as your Lord and Savior, I beg to you to make that decision today. Pray and ask him to forgive you and confess him with your mouth then you will be saved. Read Romans 10:9.

Sermon: Finding Salvation

Finding Salvation!

I heard a song lyric the other day and it said:” Trying to find salvation in that city limit sign”

That got me thinking we search for salvation in a lot of different places and items.

We search for it in:

Drugs-money- careers- relationships-sex-pornography and even our children.  Any time we try to search for deliverance outside of God’s salvation we will always be dissapointed!

Ephesians 2:8-11King James Version (KJV)

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Not of works, lest any man should boast.

10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them

If you’re reading this today you have had or are having this thought.  What happens if we die?

I had a guy try to tell me to go read a book written by the Author of Bart Simpson and get an understanding of creation!

I had to laugh not to be disrespectful but I have the bible that informs me of this already, and I am sure that Bart Simpson can’t help me find any understanding of God and creation!

The problem we find ourselves in while in disbelief is that we look truth in the wrong places. We search for truth in areas that there is no truth to be found. The Bible tells us this:

John 14:6King James Version (KJV)

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me

So if you are searching for the truth then the bible is your best source.

I hear these people that are still trying to prove the bible wrong and say that a “big bang” happened and creation was created. I heard a preacher one time say if this is true then you can take a stick of dynamite light it drop it in your living room and see if you have a new living room afterwards, NO, you will have a destroyed house. Explosions cause destruction not creation. Two molecules of water don’t create an embryo. Think about it people! It is more intellectual to realize that God created it and now you have the answer!

John 1:1-4King James Version (KJV)

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

The same was in the beginning with God.

All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made.

In him was life; and the life was the light of men

When we try to come up with other alternatives you will always find yourself in a state of confusion.

There is no other way men can be saved! Science can’t save your soul!

Acts 4:11-13New King James Version (NKJV)

11 This is the ‘stone which was rejected by you builders, which has become the chief cornerstone.’[a] 12 Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled. And they realized that they had been with Jesus.

It is time we Christians start to study so we can defend what we believe. It is not good enough to say that is how I was raised. The belief we have is a very intellectual belief!

You have to establish by who can save you!

1 Peter 2:19-25New King James Version (NKJV)

19 For this is commendable, if because of conscience toward God one endures grief, suffering wrongfully. 20 For what credit is it if, when you are beaten for your faults, you take it patiently? But when you do good and suffer, if you take it patiently, this is commendable before God. 21 For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us,[a] leaving us[b] an example, that you should follow His steps:

22 “Who committed no sin,
Nor was deceit found in His mouth”; [c]

23 who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously; 24 who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed. 25 For you were like sheep going astray, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer[d] of your souls

Today your healing can begin. If you will trust and believe that God sent his only Son Jesus to die for you and your sins, confess him as the Lord of your life you can be saved!

Look at it again:

You cannot earn your way into heaven; you can’t buy your way into heaven. You can’t be good enough and thank the Lord you can’t be bad enough. Jesus wants every person to be saved!

2 Timothy 1:8-10King James Version (KJV)

Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;

Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,

10 But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:

It is a free gift! Who can take my salvation away?

Romans 8:37-39New King James Version (NKJV)

37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Nothing can take away your salvation!

Now the question, HOW  DO I GET SAVED?

Romans 10:9-11New American Standard Bible (NASB)

9 [a]that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; 10 for with the heart a person believes, [b]resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, [c]resulting in salvation. 11 For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes in Him will not be [d]disappointed.”

1 John 5:13 (NASB) "I have written this to you who Believe in the Name of the Son of God, so that you may KNOW YOU HAVE ETERNAL LIFE."

• John 20:30-31(NASB) "Therefore many other SIGNS Jesus also performed in the PRESENCE of the DISCIPLES, which are not written in this BOOK; but these have been written so that you may BELIEVE that JESUS is the CHRIST, the SON of GOD; and that BELIEVING you may have LIFE in HIS NAME."

2 Corinthians 5:17 "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a New Creation; OLD things have Passed Away; behold, ALL things have become NEW."

2 Corinthians 13:5 (NASB) "TEST YOURSELVES to see if you are IN the FAITH; EXAMINE YOURSELVES! Or do you NOT recognize this about yourselves, that JESUS CHRIST is in you—unless indeed you FAIL the TEST?"

Here is a tough scripture: Examine yourself and then do the math does your action produce and answer that says I AM SAVED? Or did you fail the test?

Have you repented and believe the gospel?

Do you have a humble heart?

Do you mourn over your sin when you mess up?

Do you hunger to read and study the word?

Do you want to be corrected when you do wrong?

Do you obey God’s word because you Love Jesus?

Do you separate yourself from the world and its way?

Do you show evidence of a new nature?

Do you fear God and turn away from evil?

Do you bear fruit by giving Jesus your Time, money, and talent?

Do you love others?

Do you deny yourself daily?

If you failed it’s not too late! Repent, believe, and be baptized!

1 Corinthians 11:31-32 (NASB) "But if we JUDGED ourselves RIGHTLY, we would NOT be JUDGED. But when we are JUDGED, we are DISCIPLINED by the LORD so that we will NOT be CONDEMNED ALONG with the WORLD.

R.I.P. (Sermon)

One Sunday morning, the pastor noticed little Alex was staring up at the large plaque that hung in the foyer of the church. The plaque was covered with names, and small American flags were mounted on either side of it. The seven-year-old had been staring at the plaque for some time, so the pastor walked up, stood beside him and said quietly, "Good morning, Alex."
      
      "Good morning, Pastor," replied the young man, still focused on the plaque. "Pastor McGhee, what is this?" Alex asked.
      
      "Well, son, it's a memorial to all the men and women who have died in the service."
      
      Soberly, they stood together, staring at the large plaque. Little Alex's voice was barely audible when he finally managed to ask, "Which one, the 9:00 or 10:30 service?

RIP- DOESN’T NECESSARLY MEAN WHEN WE DIE, BUT IT IS PUTTING TO DEATH THOSE THINGS THAT ATTEMPT TO DISTRACT OUR LIVES AND PURPOSE. LETTING GOD BE IN CONTROL, EVEN IF WE CAN HANDLE IT!

Philippians 4:6–9, "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. 8 Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. 9 The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you."

Peace of mind is something that we all want.  We all want to be able to rest, to not have to worry, to feel free to enjoy life, family, friends, work, church, hobbies, entertainment, etc.  We want to be able to enjoy ourselves and not be burdened down with worries that rob us of vigor, life, and purpose.

Sometimes when we can't find peace of mind, we get depressed, test results come back.  We often get angry, fearful, and lash out at God or those around us.

What do you do to get peace?  I mean real peace in your life.  Where do you start?  What do you do?

Well, the best place to start is with God.

Turn with me to Philippians 4:6-9.

  1. God wants you to have true peace by having you not worry - about anything (act of thinking)
    • Worry is sin.  It means you are not trusting in God.
    • God says in verse 6, "Do not be anxious about anything."  That means don't worry.  The word for "anxious" in the greek here means to be troubled with cares
    • He hasn't given you that command without you being able to carry it out.

I noticed the other day my wife Marsha got some scary news and we became upset, but it wasn’t long until there was a peace that came to us. How?

I immediately called on some of my prayer warriors and they all seemed to be having the same response, “I AM PRAYING FOR PEACE IN YOUR LIFE!”

Marsha called and said they have found two spots on my breast and I am so scared!

I remembered quickly- FEAR, DOUBT, and CONFUSION are not from GOD!

2 Timothy 1:7New King James Version (NKJV)

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

The quicker you recognize the battle the faster you can start the fight!

 

  • He said to the man with the withered hand, "Stretch forth your hand" (Mark 3:5)
    1. But the man could not -- yet He obeyed and did it!
  • Because the Holy Spirit is in you, you are able to live by faith, and not worry... no matter what happens.  Because the Spirit empowers you to be faithful, to trust, to yield to the Lord's will.
  • With the Spirit, you are able to trust God beyond your ability to know what will happen in your life.

We called people that had been there before knowing they know how it feels and that they would take the prayer time seriously!

  • Matthew 6:25,27,31-34 ~ 25 "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear.  Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?  27 Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?  31 So do not worry, saying, `What shall we eat?' or `What shall we drink?' or `What shall we wear?'  32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.  33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.  34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.  Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Then there was this next message that kept coming from those Praying!

“GOD IS IN CONTROL”

  • 1 Peter 5:7 Cast all your anxiety (same word) on him because he cares for you. (NIV)
  • John 14:1 "Do not let your hearts be troubled.  Trust in God; trust also in me. (NIV)
  • God doesn't want you to worry because worry means you do not trust God, that you are not taking Him fully at His word.
  • God has been providing for you all along - look at the cross.

Peace had started in infiltrate our lives our situation by Prayer!

  1. God wants you to have true peace by praying - about everything (act of doing)
    • v. 6 "But in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God."
    • All things in your life are of concern to God
  1. The big and the small: where to move, who to marry, what job to get, even your hobbies, and leisure times.
    • The peace that God gives you will guard your minds.
    • The peace that God gives you will strengthen you.
    • Because of the cross, you have access to the throne of God.
      1. which is why it says "with thanksgiving," because of the cross, the proof of God's faithfulness.
      2. In the presence of God, there is peace.
  1. Then I went back to the past and remembered the healings in the past, all the things he had done for us, his promises, and his faithfulness. His none wavering relationship his constant flame of love and Grace.
    1. Romans 15:13, "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."
    2. Psalm 16:11 You have made known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.
    3. Practice what we preach – We must pray!
  1. In prayer you are transformed
  2. By praying you will intern want to think about holy things. That is why...
  1. God wants you to have true peace by meditating on what is holy (act of thinking)
    • Your minds have been set free from slavery to sin.

Romans 8:6 The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace; (NIV)

He is not wanting Resentment or Regret instead he is looking for REJOICING!

  • God wants you to fill your heart with what is good.

Phil. 4:8, "whatever is true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, of good repute, excellent worthy of praise.  Let your mind dwell on these things." (NASB)

  • God wants you to think, to meditate on truth, purity, and excellence.

Psalm 119:78 "...I will meditate on your precepts."

The precepts of God, the Word of God, is truth, purity, and excellence.

Meditate on the Word of God so that you might be transformed by the renewing of your mind.

God wants you to have true peace by putting into practice what you have learned. (act of doing)

  • He wants you to...
    1. trust Him for everything

Philippians 4:6a "Don't be anxious for anything."

  1. pray to Him for anything

Philippians 4:6b "but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." (NIV)

  1. meditate on what is holy

Philippians 4:8 "Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable -- if anything is excellent or praiseworthy -- think about such things. (NIV)

Then there was a song that kept coming on the radio and even a friend texted some of the Lyrics

God was reminding us that he is with us! Why so we could find our PEACE in him!

Conclusion:

Let’s all stand and read:

Psalm 91

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.”  ( AMEN )

This is about you finding your dwelling place in the PEACE OF GOD, KNOWING THAT HE IS TRULY WANTING YOU TO FIND SHELTER IN HIS LOVE, MERCY, GRACE,  PEACE SO YOU CAN ENTER INTO HIS REST! IT IS TIME FOR YOU TO R.I.P  A PEACE ONLY GOD CAN OFFER!

John 16:33New King James Version (NKJV)

33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will[a] have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

I immediately called on some of my prayer warriors and they all seemed to be having the same response, “I AM PRAYING FOR PEACE IN YOUR LIFE!”

Marsha called and said they have found two spots on my breast and I am so scared!

I remembered quickly- FEAR, DOUBT, and CONFUSION are not from GOD!

2 Timothy 1:7New King James Version (NKJV)

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

The quicker you recognize the battle the faster you can start the fight!

 

  • He said to the man with the withered hand, "Stretch forth your hand" (Mark 3:5)
    1. But the man could not -- yet He obeyed and did it!
  • Because the Holy Spirit is in you, you are able to live by faith, and not worry... no matter what happens.  Because the Spirit empowers you to be faithful, to trust, to yield to the Lord's will.
  • With the Spirit, you are able to trust God beyond your ability to know what will happen in your life.

We called people that had been there before knowing they know how it feels and that they would take the prayer time seriously!

  • Matthew 6:25,27,31-34 ~ 25 "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear.  Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?  27 Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?  31 So do not worry, saying, `What shall we eat?' or `What shall we drink?' or `What shall we wear?'  32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.  33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.  34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.  Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Then there was this next message that kept coming from those Praying!

“GOD IS IN CONTROL”

  • 1 Peter 5:7 Cast all your anxiety (same word) on him because he cares for you. (NIV)
  • John 14:1 "Do not let your hearts be troubled.  Trust in God; trust also in me. (NIV)
  • God doesn't want you to worry because worry means you do not trust God, that you are not taking Him fully at His word.
  • God has been providing for you all along - look at the cross.

Peace had started in infiltrate our lives our situation by Prayer!

  1. God wants you to have true peace by praying - about everything (act of doing)
    • v. 6 "But in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God."
    • All things in your life are of concern to God
  1. The big and the small: where to move, who to marry, what job to get, even your hobbies, and leisure times.
    • The peace that God gives you will guard your minds.
    • The peace that God gives you will strengthen you.
    • Because of the cross, you have access to the throne of God.
      1. which is why it says "with thanksgiving," because of the cross, the proof of God's faithfulness.
      2. In the presence of God, there is peace.
  1. Then I went back to the past and remembered the healings in the past, all the things he had done for us, his promises, and his faithfulness. His none wavering relationship his constant flame of love and Grace.
    1. Romans 15:13, "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."
    2. Psalm 16:11 You have made known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.
    3. Practice what we preach – We must pray!
  1. In prayer you are transformed
  2. By praying you will intern want to think about holy things. That is why...
  1. God wants you to have true peace by meditating on what is holy (act of thinking)
    • Your minds have been set free from slavery to sin.

Romans 8:6 The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace; (NIV)

He is not wanting Resentment or Regret instead he is looking for REJOICING!

  • God wants you to fill your heart with what is good.

Phil. 4:8, "whatever is true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, of good repute, excellent worthy of praise.  Let your mind dwell on these things." (NASB)

  • God wants you to think, to meditate on truth, purity, and excellence.

Psalm 119:78 "...I will meditate on your precepts."

The precepts of God, the Word of God, is truth, purity, and excellence.

Meditate on the Word of God so that you might be transformed by the renewing of your mind.

God wants you to have true peace by putting into practice what you have learned. (act of doing)

  • He wants you to...
    1. trust Him for everything

Philippians 4:6a "Don't be anxious for anything."

  1. pray to Him for anything

Philippians 4:6b "but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." (NIV)

  1. meditate on what is holy

Philippians 4:8 "Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable -- if anything is excellent or praiseworthy -- think about such things. (NIV)

This is about you finding your dwelling place in the PEACE OF GOD, KNOWING THAT HE IS TRULY WANTING YOU TO FIND SHELTER IN HIS LOVE, MERCY, GRACE,  PEACE SO YOU CAN ENTER INTO HIS REST! IT IS TIME FOR YOU TO R.I.P  A PEACE ONLY GOD CAN OFFER!

It seems here lately a couple of things have been on my mind one is: Do we really know how much God loves us and are we truly seeking him out to bring peace in our lives? Do we really want that peace he offers? or are we just saying it but never really activating it through trust and belief. Casting all our cares and anxieties so he ca give us rest and peace. Today if you are that person who is struggling, my hope is that today you surrender, throw up the white flag of defeat and call upon the only one that can calm the storm. The only one that can bring healing, the only one that can free you from the all worries and anxieties.  Do you want to have rest? Do you want to have peace? Do you want to have your joy restored? Today is the day that HE (JESUS) wants to bring peace to your troubled storm. Trust him today!

Dear Lord,

Let us trust you and truly call up on you to give us rest that we would not try to do your job, but allow you to be Lord of our lives in all areas. Dear Lord show us and continue growing us in your wisdom and understanding. Allow us to show others how to trust you and surrender unto you that they may know just how much you love them and want a relationship with them. Lord put those people in our paths so we can shine your love light into their dark world. Lord we thank you for dwelling within us and never leaving nor forsaking us! Lord we lift up those that are hurting today from situations and circumstances, Lord we ask that you intervene and show your mighty power in their situation! Lord we trust you, for you are the healer, redeemer and sustainer! YOU ARE OUR SAVIOR!!!!!! Bless that wonderful name, Name above all names, Lord of Lords, and King of Kings!!!

HE IS BEING TEMPTED WHILE HE IS FASTING FOR 40 DAYS. JESUS WAS SEEKING THE WILL OF GOD!

 

Jeremiah 29:11-14

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm

you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me,

and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. 14 I

will be found by you,” declares the LORD,  

 

WHEN YOU SEEK GOD OUT IN YOUR LIFE ACCORDING TO SCRIPTURE YOU WILL

FIND HIM.

 

NOW WHEN YOU ARE FASTING GOD DOES A FEW THINGS, HE TEACHES US HOW

TO OVERCOME SATAN AND HIS SCHEMES. HE GROWS US CLOSER BECAUSE WE

ARE CALLING ON HIM, EVERY TIME WE HAVE A HUNGER PAIN IT IS OUR

REMINDER TO START THE CONVERSATION WITH GOD! IF YOU HAVE BEEN

FASTING FOR 40 DAYS YOU ARE HAVING SOME HUNGER PAINS AND SOME

INTENSE CONVERSATIONS WITH GOD! AMEN!

Luke 24:1-35

 

These verses hold some of the greatest news that changed the world “HE IS RISEN.”

 

This news should be enough to keep us from doing anything wrong ever again. But……

We see so often that life and situations overwhelm us to the point we forget what the scripture promises us.

Vs. 6 tells that they needed reminded: Remember how he spoke to you.vs7 saying, The Son of Man must be

Delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.

Vs. 8 And they remembered His words.

 

Today have you allowed life to overwhelm you? Bills, unemployed, marriage failing, addiction, and/or just plain down.

Let me remind you of some scripture:

Psalm 3:3

3 But You, O Lord, are a shield about me,
My glory, and the One who lifts my head

2 Peter 3:9

The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.

Romans 4:21

and being fully assured that what God had promised, He was able also to perform

As the new year begins we must reflect on our lives and ask how we can grow closer to God. Every month, every week, every day, every hour we have an oppurtunity to make a new begining. The Hunt for God's Blessings

I received an e-mail the other day and made me think of how do I handle life’s difficult times?
So, right now we are in hunting season and everyone is excited to hopefully hunt the BIG BUCK or Turkey but I started to think of how much prep time we put into preparing for the hunt: Get the right equipment,clothes, scouting, treestands, Dow urine J, hotel rooms for those who really are wimps! But we put a lot of time and energy into preparing for the hunt.
 
But today I am going to talk about a different type of hunting. The hunt for God’s blessing!

The bible give us all kinds of examples but I love Paul’s stories: 2 Corinthians 11:16-31

New International Version (NIV)
Paul Boasts About His Sufferings
16 I repeat: Let no one take me for a fool. But if you do, then tolerate me just as you would a fool, so that I may do a little boasting. 17 In this self-confident boasting I am not talking as the Lord would, but as a fool. 18 Since many are boasting in the way the world does, I too will boast. 19 You gladly put up with fools since you are so wise! 20 In fact, you even put up with anyone who enslaves you or exploits you or takes advantage of you or puts on airs or slaps you in the face. 21 To my shame I admit that we were too weak for that!
Whatever anyone else dares to boast about—I am speaking as a fool—I also dare to boast about. 22 Are they Hebrews? So am I. Are they Israelites? So am I. Are they Abraham’s descendants? So am I. 23 Are they servants of Christ? (I am out of my mind to talk like this.) I am more. I have worked much harder, been in prison more frequently, been flogged more severely, and been exposed to death again and again. 24 Five times I received from the Jews the forty lashes minus one. 25 Three times I was beaten with rods, once I was pelted with stones, three times I was shipwrecked, I spent a night and a day in the open sea, 26 I have been constantly on the move. I have been in danger from rivers, in danger from bandits, in danger from my fellow Jews, in danger from Gentiles; in danger in the city, in danger in the country, in danger at sea; and in danger from false believers. 27 I have labored and toiled and have often gone without sleep; I have known hunger and thirst and have often gone without food; I have been cold and naked. 28 Besides everything else, I face daily the pressure of my concern for all the churches. 29 Who is weak, and I do not feel weak? Who is led into sin, and I do not inwardly burn?
30 If I must boast, I will boast of the things that show my weakness. 31 The God and Father of the Lord Jesus, who is to be praised forever, knows that I am not lying
We see all these things that Paul went through and yet we see him say: “For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain...having the desire to depart and be with Christ, for that is very much better" (Philip. 1:21-23). In these words we see the entire substance of the apostle's life and what he looked to beyond this life. Everything that Paul did revolved around his Lord whom he served. He knew that his Lord promises salvation that cannot be hindered by death, but is only brought closer by it. Thus, death was viewed as a valuable thing.
Are you hunting for all the blessing in your life or are you becoming bitter instead of better? The battles of this life are to be expected but it is how we deal with them that makes the difference. Are you digging deep to find the blessing in life’s difficult times?  Let’s look at one more example:

Matthew 14:22-33

Jesus Walks on the Water

22 Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowd. 23 After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. Later that night, he was there alone, 24 and the boat was already a considerable distance from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it.
25 Shortly before dawn Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. 26 When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,” they said, and cried out in fear.
27 But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”
28 “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”
29 “Come,” he said.
Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. 30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”
31 Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?”
32 And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down. 33 Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God.”

We see Christ walk on water to the disciples in the storm when their  world was being rocked and wondering what to do, then they LOOKED for Jesus and he came to them in the storm and as soon as Peter got his mind off the storm and fixed on Jesus then he was no longer worrying about the storm he wanted to walk out to meet Christ and was given the ability to do so by the faith in Christ Jesus, but as soon as Peter’s faith got weak and he lost the focus on Jesus then the storm became the focus again and he began to sink, but Christ still did not give up on him, Jesus then climbed in the boat with them and when Jesus entered into their presents then the storm completely calmed.
 
Today I challenge you the next time you find yourself in a storm, remember that there is a blessing to be found we just have to be willing to hunt for it. Are willing to go hunting for your blessing today during this Thanksgiving time? Look around at truly view what you have to be thankful for in your life right now.
 
I was going through a rough time at work and I got consumed by the situation, it was the main focus and I was just freaking out, wondering what I was going to do. So I called one of my friends and asked his advice and as I talked to him he started ask me some questions: How is your family? How is your finances? Do you have money in your pocket? Is your mom and Dad still alive? Do you have your health? Could you get another job if you had too? Do you have a car? Do you have friends? Do you have a house? Do you have a church family? Do you have salvation?
 
At first I did not want to discuss any of that; I had a problem and that is what I called him about, not to ask me a bunch of questions.
But then he stated; “ you got a lot to be THANKFUL for don’t you?” A lot of time in the big scheme of things these storms are not as big as we think they are.
 
Have you allowed your storm to get so big that you can’t see Jesus on the other side telling you that he can walk on top of every storm that life hands you but you have to willing to seek me first.
 
I hope each of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving Day and allow yourself to be filled with Joy knowing Jesus is in control of every storm and give him the Thanks for the blessing he is going to give you during this difficult time .  Become a hunter of blessing !
